The story of Birdsong Farm's "Camaro" family began when my husband Ben and I moved to Falkland and became the herd and barn managers at Falkland Dairy Farm. We immediately fell in love with #86, a nameless Jersey cow with no history. A year later, I finally asked Rick Hendriksen if I could buy her, and I named her Camaro in honour of Rick's love of classic cars.
In the process of registering Camaro as a percentage purebred, I was asked to provide the date that her dam was bred and managed to track down her herd management and NLID number. A few days later, I was looking through old records and discovered that Camaro's dam was registered as an F1 cross (50% Jersey) with Holstein Canada, bringing Camaro's purity up to 75%!
