Gaymar Just A Princess (sold in 2013)

GAYMAR JUST A PRINCESS was my first registered Jersey. She was born at Gaymar Jerseys on December 10, 2005, and arrived on Birdsong Farm on March 20, 2008 - three months after the birth of her first calf.
Don Hendrickson asked me to care for Princess while he and his wife, Evon, went on the World Jersey Cattle Bureau's tour of Jersey farms in England and the Island of Jersey. When they returned from their trip they kindly let me buy her. I think they knew that I was pretty attached to this beautiful, friendly Jersey cow!
Princess' sire is RAPID BAY JUST WAIT EX 95-2E, and her dam is GAYMAR JESTER PALM VG 87. She is registered with Jersey Canada; please click on the logo below to view her pedigree. Her inbreeding percentage is 5.96%, within the recommended 7% or less.
I always milked Princess by hand, and she was giving me between twelve and sixteen quarts of rich, creamy milk every day while on Birdsong Farm, going as high as twenty quarts a day after she first calved or while on pasture. She is tested as type A1/A2 for Beta Casein, and while she is not tested for Kappa Casein I believe that she is type A/B.
Princess was genotyped with the 50K SNP panel, and she has a GLPI of 366 and a DGV of 469 (Apr*15; 49% reliability); please click here to view her genotyping report. Her results for JH1 and JH2 (Jersey Haplotype 1 & 2) are 1%, or tested free.
In 2006, Princess was 2nd place Intermediate Calf in both the Calgary Dairy Classic in March and the Chilliwack Exhibition in August. In 2007, she was 2nd place Intermediate Yearling at the Calgary Dairy Classic in March, 1st place Intermediate Yearling at the Chilliwack Exhibition in August, and 3rd place Intermediate Yearling at the Red Deer Championship Show in October. Princess was never shown as a milking cow, and was never classified.
To date, Princess has given birth to five calves, and their names and birth dates are:
Due to limited space in my barn, I had to sell Princess in 2013, and on June 29th she left for her new home in 100 Mile House. Thank you to Justine Lafreniere and family for giving her a good home!
